Implementation Engineer

Full-time

Hybrid Remote

Houston, TX or Oklahoma City, OK

This is a unique opportunity to work with an all-star group of large independent E&Ps to implement solutions to some of the most significant problems in oil and gas using PetroBricks' data automation platform.

Position requires a combination of oil industry experience and and data engineering knowledge. If you've never heard of MQTT or don't know the difference between a JSON web API and a web hook, then you probably have great skills, but this probably isn't the right fit for you.

The ideal person is a data engineer who has a petroleum engineering background, preferably in production, but made the switch to a data role a few years back. This person has hands on experience working with data integration technologies like JSON web APIs, EventHub/Kafka, SQL Server and Postgres, as well as a variety of enterprise and cloud data storage platforms.

If you've worked at a consulting house writing data integrations for oil and gas customers, you're probably a great fit.

Candidates must live in one of these areas:

  • Houston, TX

  • Dallas, TX

  • Oklahoma City, OK

The Implementation Engineer is responsible for working with customer petroleum engineers and IT staff to understand and create the data workflows needed to solve common industry problems such as gas lift optimization, ESP optimization, emissions monitoring, etc. They will then act as an SME, helping customers use the PetroBricks data automation platform to solve these problems, tying together new-tech sensor systems, SAAS apps, internal customer services, and cloud systems like AWS, Azure, and Snowflake.

This is a key position at an oil and gas data technology startup, and a great opportunity for the type of person who'd rather blaze a trail than follow one.
